Gateway to College
July 21-26, Lakes Region Community College
Welcome to the ultimate crash course designed to prepare you for college academically and socially! Think of Gateway to College as a week-long VIP pass to unlock the skills and confidence you need to thrive. This program is five nights in LRCC’s student apartments building your academic skills and establishing friendships with peers.
During the program, you’ll have an opportunity to connect with students your age, and improve your English and math skills, all while gaining the essential tools needed to help you become a successful college student!
By day, you will be preparing academically, and at night, we have fun activities planned around our region- past activities have included trips to Ellacoya State Park, Funspot, Altitude in Concord and the Weirs.
Gateway grads walk away having completed a one-credit, required college course and a sweet $250 academic scholarship for their first semester at LRCC. Programming, housing and meals are all free of charge.
During this time, you’ll get to know LRCC’s Campus Life Director and Resident Assistants, who’ll be your guides throughout the week. So, mark your calendars, because from July 21st to the 26th, you’ll be embarking on the best week of your summer. Space is limited!

What’s on the agenda? Here’s a typical day:
- Academics: 8:00 to 12:00
- Lunch/Break: 12:00-12:30
- Social/Success Workshops: 1:00-3:15
- Homework/Prep: 3:15-4:00
- Break: 4:00-5:00
- Dinner: 5:00-6:00
- Fun activity: 6:00-9:00 (Past activities include trips to Ellacoya State Park, Funspot, Altitude in Concord and the Weirs.)
Gateway Go Evening Program August 5-8, 2024 6:00-8:00 (in Person)
and August 12-15 Online
Gateway Go is for incoming LRCC students who graduated from high school a year or more ago. The evening program is like the residential program but focuses more on College Essentials content. Successful completion of Gateway Go will earn participants credit for College Essentials.

Application and selection process
The application deadline for the residential and evening Gateway programs is June 14, 2024. Applications received after the 14th will be considered on a space-available basis.
