We continue to monitor COVID-19 cases and follow New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) and CDC guidance to determine which prevention measures are appropriate for our College Community.

Masks and Social Distancing

Masks are optional on campus. We encourage all to continue to wear a mask at their discretion. We ask that all who come to campus recognize individual risk factors and respect each other’s choices to continue to wear a mask. Masks are available throughout campus.

Social distancing requirements have been lifted in most spaces on campus. Courses are continuing to transition back to pre-pandemic maximum enrollments for in-person classes and labs.

Events are allowed and welcomed, both on and off campus.

COVID-19 Symptom, Exposure & Positive Test Protocols

Below are Lakes Region Community College’s protocols for students, faculty, and staff who experience COVID-19 symptoms, exposure, or positive test results.

What should I do if I am experiencing COVID-like symptoms?

Employees and students should stay home whenever they have COVID-like symptoms. We recommend those with symptoms obtain a negative COVID-19 test before returning to campus.

More information is available from the CDC here: What to do if you are sick – CDC.

    • Students must communicate with their professor(s) regarding any absence due to illness.
    • Employees should notify their supervisor of any absence due to illness.

What should I do if I have experienced a COVID-19 exposure?

If you were exposed to COVID-19 or have been told by a healthcare provider or public health authority that you were exposed, wear a mask as soon as you know you were exposed (regardless of vaccination status), and follow the guidance from the CDC on “What to Do If You Were Exposed to COVID-19?”

If you have tested positive or are showing symptoms of COVID-19, you should isolate immediately.

What should I do if I have tested positive for COVID-19?

If you test positive for COVID-19, you are required to report your positive test and are not to come to campus. Reports of a positive COVID-19 test must be submitted to:

Employees: Human Resources Manager Karen Schaffner [email protected]

Students: Associate Vice President Laura LeMien [email protected]

You are required to follow the quarantine and isolation guidance from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and the CDC, and you may not return to campus until your required isolation has ended.

    • Stay home and away from others (including people in your household) for at least 5 days.
    • Isolation can end after day 5 if you are fever-free (not taking fever-reducing medications) for at least 24 hours and other symptoms are improving.
    • If the fever has been present in the prior 24 hours, or if other symptoms are not improving, then you should continue to isolate until fever-free and symptoms are improving for at least 24 hours, or until after 10 days of isolation.
    • After day five of isolation, you can return to campus and should wear a mask until day 10.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Laura LeMien at [email protected].
