The NH Board of Nursing approved Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) program consists of 46 hours of classroom theory/lab and 60 hours of clinical for a total of 106 hours of coursework. The theory portion is delivered at the college. The clinical is arranged at a local health care facility. After successfully completing the LNA program, all students must register for the state competency written and clinical exam and complete criminal background checks/fingerprinting as part of the process to obtain their LNA license with the State of New Hampshire. This course is not part of the Associate Degree in the Nursing Program.

To participate in the LNA clinical, you are required to document:
- No findings on a NH Criminal Background check and Bureau of Adult Services (BEAS) and OIG.
- Physician documentation of the following immunizations:
- Negative two-step tuberculin skin test (TST), followed by annual screening, or negative TB testing with an interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) within the past year. If TB screening is positive, a health care provider note documenting medical clearance;
- Completed hepatitis B immunization series (3 shots) with laboratory confirmation of positive antibody (serum titer drawn to show immunity); signed waiver or documentation of non-converter status;
- Varicella immunity e.g. documentation of two doses of vaccine, laboratory confirmed immunity (IgG); or healthcare provider diagnosis of chickenpox or shingles (herpes zoster);
- Rubeola immunity e.g. documentation of two doses of vaccine or laboratory confirmed immunity (IgG); (2nd ‘M’ in MMR aka red measles);
- Rubella immunity e.g. documentation of one dose of vaccine or laboratory confirmed immunity (IgG); (‘R’ of MMR, aka German measles);
- Mumps immunity e.g. documentation of two doses of vaccine or laboratory confirmed immunity (IgG); (‘M’ of MMR);
- Pertussis vaccine e.g. documentation of single dose Tdap (Boostrix or Adacel);
- Influenza vaccine required Oct-May
- Proof of current health insurance
- Orientation Modules for hospital and nursing home
- ESOL assessment if needed
- Any other requirements from clinical site

- Background check from the Division of State Police
- Licensed Nursing Assistant Competency Exam: $190 (this fee is subject to change and is paid at the completion of the course). This final evaluation is required by the NH Board of Nursing prior to applying for your LNA license.
- After you have successfully completed your LRCC LNA Program and passed the NH State Competency exam you must complete the Initial LNA License application process with the Board of Nursing. LNA Competency Exam
If you were a Licensed Nursing Assistant and your license has expired, you may be able to take the LNA Competency Exam to reinstate your license. The first step is to call the Board of Nursing at (603) 271-6282. They will review your situation and provide a letter of reinstatement for you to bring to the exam as proof of eligibility.
