The Computer Technologies curriculum leads to an associate degree in the field of computer technologies. Additionally, the program is designed to offer Microsoft or other industry-recognized certification in specific areas of study within the degree program.
The Computer Technologies Database Administrator/Website Developer track is for individuals who would like to create websites and/or databases. Students will learn skills beyond what is possible with commercial plug-in tools. Students will learn how to use CSS, HTML5, PhP and other programming languages to go beyond basic web design and create a robust website suited to today’s business needs. Students will learn a variety of database platforms, including MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle. All courses are designed with the potential for transfer to a four-year institution.
The Computer Technologies Network Administrator track is designed for individuals wishing to work in the network or help desk fields. The courses cover a variety of topics in networking including routers, Microsoft Server Installation and Administration, Linux operating systems and security.
The Computer Technologies Software Developer/Gaming & Animation track is for individuals who desire to be creative as well as scientific. Students are required to learn a variety of languages, as well as work in different development environments. Students will learn Java, C++ and Objective-C and create applications for Windows, Apple and Android devices.
