At their November 3rd annual meeting, the NH Lakes Region Tourism Association recognized two outstanding LRCC students for their dedication and promise in the hospitality industry.
Lisa Bosteels: Recipient of the Mildred Beach Scholarship
Lisa Bosteels, a second-year Culinary Arts student, was awarded the Mildred Beach Scholarship—an honor bestowed annually since 2001 to a student pursuing a career in hospitality. Lisa’s journey is a testament to passion and perseverance. She currently works with Dead Proof Pizza Co., a mobile kitchen known for its inventive culinary offerings, and previously held a long-term position at Janie’s Uncommon Café in Londonderry. Her recognition places her among a legacy of excellence, including LRCC’s own Chef Kayla Harper, who received the same scholarship in 2011.

Logan Moody: Honored with the Mel Borrin Award
Logan Moody, also a second-year student, was presented with the Mel Borrin Award—named in memory of Melvin “Mel” Borrin, a beloved figure in the Lakes Region Tourism Association who served as president, board member, and treasurer. Logan’s commitment to the field was evident during his summer co-op at Walter’s Basin, where his performance earned him a position through the off-season. His growth and professionalism reflect the spirit of the award and the legacy of its namesake.

“Both Lisa and Logan exemplify what it takes to be successful here at LRCC and in the Hospitality Industry. They are passionate, hardworking, and strive daily to improve their individual skill sets while supporting the overall team environment in the kitchen. I am proud to have them represent LRCC as they advance in their professional careers,” said Chef William Walsh, Culinary Arts Department Chair at LRCC.
Congratulations to both! Your journey is just beginning.
