Q: What is Office 365?
A:
Microsoft Office 365 is a collection of collaboration and productivity tools provided through the "cloud", permitting everyone to work together with access to e-mail and calendars anywhere.

Q: How will I access my new e-mail account?
A: Your new e-mail account is accessible through the Outlook Web Access interface through your web browser. To login to your web based Outlook account, go to the Student Resource area, scroll down to Online Accounts and choose "Student Email".

Q: Will my e-mail address change with Office 365?
A:
No, your e-mail address will remain the same - username@students.ccsnh.edu

Q: Why do I get an error when I try to log in to my email?
A: If you tried logging in to http://mymail.students.ccsnh.edu/owa as you used to, you must now go to http://students.ccsnh.edu to log in to e-mail. If you still get an error, your mailbox may be in the move process. Try again in 30 minutes.

Q: Are all features of Office 365 enabled?
A:
All e-mail functions are enabled. Web Apps and TeamSite will not be functional until later in 2013. See note above.

Q: Will mobile devices work with Outlook?
A: Yes, Office 365 offers Exchange ActiveSync to provide rich access from a number of devices. However you must edit the settings for the e-mail account on the mobile device and change 2 fields:

  1. Change server to be m.outlook.com instead of mymail.students.ccsnh.edu
  2. Change the username to be full e-mail address instead of just the alias. Example: instead of just having amurphy123 as user, you need to change to amurphy123@students.ccsnh.edu

Q: Why does my iPhone say it is unable to connect to the e-mail server?

  1. Change server to be m.outlook.com instead of mymail.students.ccsnh.edu
  2. Change the username to be full e-mail address instead of just the alias. Example: instead of just having amurphy123 as user, you need to change to amurphy123@students.ccsnh.edu

Q: Are POP and IMAP supported?
A:
If a student chooses to use a device or e-mail client that only has a POP or IMAP option, then they should be expected to know how to use the device or client, and should only need to know the connecting server and port information for the client. Being well versed in using the client or device is really up to them. If they don’t have the knowledge to use their chosen device or client then they should use the OWA client or one of the supported clients we recommend.

Q: How do I find my POP or IMAP server information?
A: Server information can be found by clicking the "Options" then "About" buttons in the e-mail interface. NOTE: It is strongly recommended that you select the option in the client to leave a copy of your e-mail on the server. This is always an option with POP and if you do not select it your e-mail will be pulled off the server and onto your client. If you then log in with another client or OWA, there will be no e-mail as it has all been pulled off the server. More support.
