Energy Auditor Course Field Trip

Energy Auditor TrainingPhoto: Building Energy Technologies, LLC, Principal, Andy Duncan, Ph.D. (Concord-left), explains heat loss principles while doing an actual energy audit with Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Energy Services and Technology student, Rachel Williams (Dover-right), during the College’s first-ever Energy Auditor Training Program. Students are attempting to become Building Performance Institute (BPI)-certified Building Analysts.

The photograph was taken at a home on Cross Street in Laconia where students actually performed energy audits with Duncan’s guidance. "The course is an excellent opportunity for individuals to become building energy analysts," says Duncan. "I look forward to the coming 10-day session in Littleton."

Duncan’s next training will be held at White Mountains Community College, Littleton Campus, Littleton, NH, beginning Monday, September 28, 2009. Trainings will also be held in Nashua, Concord, on the Seacoast, and in Claremont between now and December. For additional information, contact LRCC Academic Affairs Vice President, Tom Goulette (Belmont), or Administrative Secretary, Andree Thibault (Concord), at (800) 357-2992 or (603) 524-3207.

The tuition for LRCC’s Energy Auditor Training statewide is being reduced by $500 as a result of receiving a $168,500 grant sponsored by the NH Division of Economic Development. The tuition is $1,100, less the $500 discount as a result of the grant, equaling $600. The textbook is included.
