Linko is teaching Introduction to Business and Principles of Marketing, partnering with LRCC Business and Office Technology Management Department Head, Gail Thomas (Belmont-not pictured), and Business Management Professor, Max Brown (Loudon-not pictured), through LRCC’s Running Start Program.
"Running Start gives secondary school students a chance to earn high school and college credits through the same course delivered in their classroom by Lakes Region Community College," says Groves who was the Program Coordinator of White Mountains Community College’s Conway Academic Center, prior to joining LRCC. "For only $100 high school students can earn three college credits in their Running Start class; that’s more than an 80% savings. Students interested in Running Start should visit their guidance office."
Running Start allows qualified high school teachers the opportunity to offer college-level courses to students in their high school. Close collaboration with LRCC professors allows interested high school students to get a “running start” earning college credits. Running Start students are considered LRCC part-time students, and have access to all college resources. Almost every junior and senior level high school course has the potential to offer dual credit through Running Start. For more information call Groves at 524-3207 ext. 772.
