First Lady of New Hampshire to Speak at NHCTC Laconia
Photo: New Hampshire ’s First Lady, Dr. Susan Lynch, will speak at NHCTC Laconia on Thursday, November 1, in the new CAT academic building on Prescott Hill. The presentation, “Healthy Choices, Healthy Lives,” is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Susan Lynch (Hopkinton), First Lady of New Hampshire, will be speaking at New Hampshire Community Technical College Laconia on Thursday, November 1, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The presentation is scheduled to be held in the new Center for Arts and Technology (CAT) Academic Building , room 216, Prescott Hill.
“Healthy Choices, Healthy Lives” is the title of Dr. Lynch’s presentation. “Childhood obesity is reaching epidemic levels in America ,” says NHCTC Laconia Early Childhood Education Coordinator, Janet Kibbee (Penacook). “The College community is honored and excited to have Dr. Lynch speak on an issue that is so critical to America ’s health.”
Lynch is working aggressively to draw attention to the problem of childhood obesity and serves as spokesperson for “ Walk NH ,” a program designed to teach children ages 6 to 12 how to have fun getting in shape. “Walk NH” has expanded to encourage adult participation.
Dr. Lynch earned her M.D. from the University of Massachusetts in 1986. She practiced general pediatrics at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic in Concord . Presently Lynch is a pediatrician at the Cholesterol Treatment Center , Concord Hospital .
