Harris attributes much of his success to instruction received at LRCC.

Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) 2003 Graphic Design honors graduate, Jordan Harris (Woonsocket, RI), has done well for himself. He had a burning desire to be employed in the creative realm and was successful in landing his dream job as the Marketing and Advertising Manager at the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre in Woonsocket, RI, and he loves it!

Harris also completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Eastern Connecticut State University in Graphic Design magna cum laude. There is no question that Harris feels that he was extremely well prepared for the larger university having completed two years at LRCC. "One of the most important things that I learned at LRCC was the ability to create something that could be easily produced," says Harris. "I had a leg up over others in the industry as well as other students at Eastern CT State University because of the in-depth training I received in LRCC classes. LRCC taught me not only to design a good looking product, but how to design feasible products that could be used in the real world."

As Marketing and Advertising Manager at the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre in Rhode Island, Harris is responsible for a marketing budget of $135,000 annually which he uses to publicize a season jam packed with 50 performances and educational programs which include workshops and a kids' performing arts summer camp. Harris says, "I wear a lot of hats at the Stadium! One of my most interesting duties is to take photos of the acts and performers which I use for marketing materials such as brochures, postcards and posters. I also write press releases, radio spots, and promotional copy. A lot of my time is spent designing ads for magazines and newspapers, and four times a year I design a full-color season brochure which gets distributed to 150,000 people in the Providence and southern Massachusetts area. On top of all that it's my job to administer Stadium's Facebook page, and modify the Theatre's website." Harris continues, "Through all of those projects my single objective is to give the Stadium Theatre a welcoming and interactive personality, and inform as many people as possible that the Stadium offers high quality, live entertainment at family affordable prices."

"I really have found my dream job. It's great! I wouldn't be where I am today without the powerful knowledge I gained from LRCC Professors, Audrey Garretson (Bridgewater), Mike Place (Penacook), Armand Peters (Meredith), and Tom Rogers (Rochester). Thank you guys," Harris concludes.
