Wind Turbine Demonstration at LRCC's Autumn on the Hill
Photo: Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Energy Services and Technology (EST) Professor, Carl Daniels (Alton-right), explains the inner workings of a wind turbine during LRCC’s Autumn on the Hill Open House held last Wednesday evening on Prescott Hill. The wind turbine is used in the College’s Renewable Energy Sources course, a part of LRCC’s EST Associate Degree Program. Listening intently is Tom Francoeur (Gilford-left), an AOTH attendee.
"Mr. Francoeur was extremely interested in wind power,"says Daniels, who joined the LRCC faculty full-time this September. "Alternative energy sources and technologies is our economic future."
The LRCC EST program saw substantial growth in the fall semester 2009, up more than 50% in student numbers. For additional information about LRCC’s EST programs, contact Program Coordinator, Wes Golomb (Deerfield-not pictured), at 524-3207 ext. #763 or Daniels at ext. #624.
