LRCC Gabe's Scholarship

Swain is the first recipient of the Gabe's Fund Scholarship (named after Rollins' son) in the amount of $500.00 (five hundred dollars). Funds were raised by Rollins and others through a bake sale and raffle done in her son's name. Rollins created the Gabe's Fund Scholarship to be used for assisting LRCC single parents in need.

"With so many deserving applicants, it was very difficult to choose just one recipient for the Gabe's Fund Scholarship," says Rollins, formerly a single mother who graduated from LRCC in Liberal Arts. "Being a single parent and going to college is a difficult endeavor to say the least. Ms. Fadera Swain should be commended for her efforts at LRCC."

Rollins has now completed her Bachelor's Degree at Ashford University. She is working towards her Master's Degree through Ashford at this time.
