NHCTC Laconia Students Volunteer at DECA State Conference
Photo: Manchester Memorial High School Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Advisor, Judy Johnson (Goffstown-center), catches her breath with New Hampshire Community Technical College Laconia Accounting Honor Student, Holly Bundy (Concord-left), and Business Management Honor Student, Charles Taggett (Meredith Center-right). Johnson was one of the key people in orchestrating the statewide DECA Conference held in Nashua recently.
Bundy, Taggett, and NHCTC Laconia students not pictured, Casie Dumont (Lincoln), Kim Ladd (Meredith Center), and Samantha Boutsianis (Gilmanton Iron Works) volunteered to serve as Event Chairpersons throughout the day-long competitions.
“Coordinating the DECA Business Law and Ethics team event provided me a crash course in time management,” says Bundy, who will be graduating in May from the Laconia College with dual degrees in Accounting and Business Management. “It was interesting to see the commitment and dedication of the high school students competing at the 50th Annual DECA Convention. The experience showed college volunteers how to adapt in a professional and business like manner.”
