Energy Services Technology Student Awarded PSNH/NASA Scholarship

Photo: Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Energy Services Technology Honor Student, Shane Plummer (Franklin), has been awarded the PSNH/NASA Space Grant Scholarship for spring 2010. The Scholarship program is made possible through a partnership between NASA, the National Aeronautic Space Agency and PSNH, Public Service of New Hampshire. 3/8/10.

Plummer was awarded $1,500 based on intellectual achievement and a well-researched essay for the NASA/PSNH Scholarship. The Scholarship is made available to students who are attending one of the seven Community College System of New Hampshire colleges pursuing studies of earth or space including the sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

"I would like to thank the LRCC faculty and staff for everything that I have achieved," says Plummer now finishing his first year of studies at LRCC. "Thanks are in order to the people of the NASA and PSNH Scholarship Foundation. I greatly appreciate the opportunity for the Scholarship and I look forward to a career in the energy field; my hopes are to better the Earth and reduce the amount of energy consumption in America."

Plummer desires to complete the LRCC EST Associate Degree and the HVAC Certificate before continuing for his Bachelor’s Degree in the future. He then hopes to purchase homes and reconstruct them into highly energy efficient ones before reselling the homes on the open market.
