LRCC GM-ASEP Graduate Wins National Gold!

The gentlemen are at the 47th Annual SkillsUSA national competition in Kansas City, MO, June 19 – 24. Minihan is New Hampshire's first post-secondary automotive technology student to win the national gold medal.

"Adam went head-to-head against 40 of the nation's best automotive technology college students," says LRCC GM-ASEP Professor, Jamie Decato (Belmont-not pictured), himself a national silver medalist in 1996. "If I had one word to describe Adam, it would be driven. Winning the national automotive competition is an outstanding achievement by an outstanding student!"

SkillsUSA, a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives, has served more than 10.5 million people. Fifty-six hundred career and technical education students—all state contest winners—competed in 94 trade, technical, and leadership fields.

The NH Automobile Dealers Association sponsored the SkillsUSA State Competition and provided funding toward Minihan's travel expenses to Kansas City.

"The SkillsUSA competition is a life changing event for Adam," Decato continues. "Mr. Minihan now has the attention of top industry professionals and represents the best-of-the-best in the nation." Minihan has earned the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2013 World Skills Championship in Germany.
