LAKES REGION ART ASSOCIATION EXHIBIT

New Hampshire Community Technical College Laconia will host an exhibit by members of the Lakes Region Art Association, February 1 through 28 in the Center for Arts and Technology building foyer. A public reception with the artists will be held on February 6 from 5-7 p.m.

“I’m so pleased to be able to showcase the work of area artists,” says Patricia Wild (Gilford), Chair of the College’s Art and Education Department. “Our connections to and services for the larger community will continue to evolve as Lakes Region CC’s offerings grow. The Lakes Region Art Association exhibit is a great step in that direction.”

A wide array of art media and styles will be included, such as landscapes and seascapes, still-life, scenes of Shaker life and architecture, views of nature, and portraits in oils, watercolors, pencil, charcoal, and pastels.

The Lakes Region Art Association was founded in 1940, and currently has 70 members. They meet the third Monday of the month, from March through November. Meetings include a guest speaker or demonstrator, and are open to all artists and art lovers.

The CAT building is open from 8am-9pm Monday through Friday, and all are welcome to view the exhibit during those hours. For more information, contact Dr. Wild at 524-3207 ext. #734.
