LRCC Hosts 4th Annual International Week
Lakes Region Community College’s Culture Club and Bennett Library Club will celebrate the 4th Annual International Week on Prescott Hill with two feature presentations that are open to the public.
On Monday, April 28, 12 noon, LRCC President, Dr. Mark Edelstein (Laconia), will be presenting on Cuba. The title of Edelstein’s presentation is “Curious about Cuba?” Edelstein will be presenting a slide show and discussing the country. “People in the USA hear a great deal about Cuba, but few get to visit the country,” says LRCC Librarian, Cyndy Davis (Gilford), a world traveler herself. “Dr. Edelstein is a colorful speaker and everyone looks forward to a fascinating presentation.”
LRCC Arts and Sciences Professor, Scott Cracraft (Gilford), also a world traveler, will be presenting on Peru with the assistance of LRCC student, Christine Wessollek (Gilgord ), an intrepid student traveler. Their topic is “Majestic Machu Picchu! And More” that will focus on Peru’s ancient ruins. Cracraft and Wessollek’s presentation will be on Wednesday, April 30, 12 noon. Both LRCC International Week presentations will be held in LRCC’s Bennett Library.
Individuals are encouraged to bring their lunches and international desserts will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the Bennett Library Club.
