Place just received the “green light” to offer a new Media Arts Program starting this fall at NHCTC Laconia. He will work in collaboration with several area media specialists including the New Hampshire Film Office and Granite Media Center (www.gmcnh.com), Tilton, on film editing, special effects, animation, and web design.
“NHCTC Laconia’s graphics programs have a 40-year history of training the best and brightest in New Hampshire’s graphics industry,” says Professor Place. “The program has more than a million dollars worth of current and relevant equipment used by industry today. The new Media program adapts well to existing graphics materials and equipment.”
“College personnel are also working closely with Great Northern Video (www.greatnorthernvideo.com) staff in Pembroke to build professional editing systems. The new Media Arts and Technology program is a natural evolution of traditional graphic design and will be an exciting new program for NHCTC Laconia,” Place concludes.
