Entry Level Solar Photovolaic Installer Course
Course Description:
The Learning Objectives for this course include ten (10) skill sets:
- PV Markets and Applications
- Safety Basics
- Electricity Basics
- Solar Energy Fundamentals
- PV Module Fundamentals
- System Components
- PV System Sizing
- PV System Electrical Design
- PV System Mechanical Design
- Performance Analysis and Troubleshooting
In addition to 10 classes, this course will include 2 days of field work which will include the installation of a photovoltaic system for a local non-profit organization.
Upon completion of this course the student will be eligible to take the NABCEP certification exam. A person with this certificate has basic knowledge of photovoltaic systems, suitable for a supervised, entry level position with a dealer / installer or other PV industry company. The skills do not replace Electrical Trades, Technician, Technologist or Engineering training.
