Building Science Principles, Online, Spring 2016
Course Number: NCWK9043L Building Science Online, CRN# 27004
Cost: $240 for textbook, review materials and exam
Dates: January 4 - May 20, 2016. This is a self-paced online non-credit course. Start and finish at your own pace.
Course Description: Building Science Principles provides an introduction to buildings as energy systems with an emphasis on residential buildings. Topics include the building envelope, heat flows and insulation, heating and cooling systems, air movement, ventilation, moisture, and energy efficiency strategies.
Tuition for this online course includes:
- The BPI Building Science Principles (BSP) Reference Guide;
- Online BSP review materials;
- One electronic code for taking the BSP Certificate of Knowledge online exam. The BSP online exam is open book and not proctored.

Introduction to Photovoltaics, Summer 2016

Cost: $618, plus optional NABCEP exam fee
Dates: Tuesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 pm, May 17 - Aug. 9, 2016
Course Description: This course introduces the principles of photovoltaics; including the basics of safety, the electrical basics of solar PV systems, how modules are designed and combined with other system components. Participants will learn how to decide upon the size, electrical and mechanical design of a PV system, as well as how to analyze and troubleshoot problems. At the conclusion of this course, students will be eligible to take the examination for the NABCEP PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge. Students should have a basic understanding of electricity fundamentals before enrolling in this class.
