    Course Goals:
  • Learn how to evaluate residential buildings as energy systems
  • Gain skills in recommending safe, energy efficient, cost effective and durable building improvements
  • Learn how to use weatherization diagnostic equipment
  • Gain knowledge about opportunities in the green building field
  • Become a certified Building Analyst by the Building Performance Institute (BPI)
    Course Prerequisites:
  • Basic math, science and computer skills;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Ability to attend all six training days;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Recommended Skills:
  • Familiarity with building systems (structural, energy, mechanical, etc.).
  • Ability to practice building diagnostic procedures outside of the course will greatly improve the likelihood of passing the field test.

      Cost:
    • Discounted tuition of $600.
    • Tuition includes textbook.
    • BPI written test and BPI field test - $125.
      The cost for this course is well below typical charge for comparable BPI courses.

    Company Billing: When an employer pays educational expenses, the student must obtain written authorization from the employer on official letterhead and attach it to the signed registration form. The authorization replaces tuition payment. If a student must obtain a predetermined grade or complete the course in order to be reimbursed by the company, the student is required to pay for the course in advance.
