Fall Courses

Join us in a class - experience your creativity, expand your mind, find inspiration, have fun, and learn something new! Put aside your fear, put aside your doubt ("I can't draw!"), and follow the call to try something you've always wanted to try.

This fall the art department will be offering Sculpture for the first time. Stone, wood, plaster, clay, wire - oh what a time the students will be having! We can't wait to see what they'll create.

No prerequisites are necessary for Drawing I, The Clay Experience 1, 35 mm Photography, Screen Printing, and History of Art 1, all offered this fall. Other courses being offered: Drawing 3, Painting 1, 2-D Design, Sculpture.

Faculty Spotlight

Dr. Patricia Wild, chair of the art Department, offered a series of Expressive Arts workshops at Tarra Perma in downtown Laconia during the summer. The Expressive Arts are a particular way of using the arts as a tool for inner growth and exploration. This approach to art is grounded in the mind-body-spirit connection, and no experience or particular talent is required - just a willingness o explore and trust that you already have art inside you.

Contact Dr. Wild for information about upcoming workshops. Dr. Wild is working towards a CGS (Certificate of Graduate Study) in Expressive Arts at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.

Jim Locke led a week-long sculpture workshop at Star Island, off the coast of New Hampshire, this summer.
