Emergency Medical Services
LRCC’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs combine lecture, hands-on skill development, and clinical rotations to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enter the EMS field.
As part of the healthcare and public safety team, EMS providers are held in high public regard and have great expectations. LRCC’s EMS programs prepare students to directly enter the EMS workforce or use the training as an introduction to the healthcare field for those pursuing other medically-related training or degrees.
LRCC offers two EMS certification programs; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT). Successful completion of the EMT or AEMT program enables students to complete the national psychomotor (practical) and cognitive (written) examinations for certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). In addition LRCC’s EMS programs include the New Hampshire Bureau of EMS ‘Scope of Practice Modules’ which make students licensure-ready in the State of New Hampshire.
